Dear Fellow Chapter Member:
It is with great disappointment that I inform the membership that our current Chapter Chair, Kaycee Cavicchia,
has stepped down from her position due to personal/family obligations. Anyone who knows Kaycee will tell
you that she has been a rock solid member of this Chapter and has performed above and beyond for us in all
of the positions she has held and in all of the work she has done on behalf of this Chapter.
I cannot thank Kaycee enough for her service to this Chapter, and for her confidence in me in asking me to be
her Vice-Chair. Effective immediately, I have assumed the chairmanship of the Chapter. While I had hoped to
collaborate with Kaycee a little longer, I understand the circumstances & wish her well. During my time as
Vice-Chair, Kaycee and I had undertaken the task of revitalizing this Chapter, and we have thus far succeeded
in this task.
It is my intention to continue to work to bringing back interest and participation in our Chapter and in this
organization. The programs instituted last year saw a significant increase in interest and attendance by our
Chapter membership, and we will continue to bring our membership the type of programs that are of interest
to them. Our meeting program has been modified to include both lunch and early dinner time slots in order
to accommodate a larger percentage of our membership. Our meeting location has been changed to a location
more central to our members, and one that is easily accessible from all major roadways. We will also be
working on new and innovative “Virtual Meetings” for all members in the near future.
We are reaching out to other similar organizations and to other Chapters to collaborate on bringing seminars,
symposiums, and other training events which will bring a broader base of appeal to our members, including
moving our Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Study Group to the Spring and including new study groups
for the Physical Security Professional (PSP), and the Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) designations in the
Our goals are large, but with the support and input of our membership, we are confident that Northern New
Jersey Chapter XII will succeed in 2018. I invite every member to, once again, participate in their Chapter to help
us reach our goals. You are cordially invited to attend our next Chapter event, our February meeting, which
will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Redd’s Restaurant in Carlstadt, NJ. We will have
a presentation on Security Operation Centers given by Jerry Cordasco, CPP, PSP, followed by a networking
session. A separate meeting notice will be sent shortly & will also be posted on all of our Social Media sites
(Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook), as well as the Chapter’s own web site (www.asisnnj.org).
I appreciate the opportunity, and look forward to serving you as Chapter Chair. I welcome any and all input by
our membership with regard to improving the Chapter for its members. Please feel free to contact me directly
at 201-614-4670, by e-mail at email@example.com, or my private e-mail at RobertF167@yahoo.com.
I hope that you can join us on February 1st. I look forward to meeting and discussing the future of our chapter
with you then.
